Richard Woods (Chester, Inglaterra, 1966) se formó como escultor en la Slade School of Fine Art de Londres en 1990, donde vive y trabaja. Woods es conocido por sus instalaciones arquitectónicas y por revestir estructuras que proponen un giro absurdo en el culto a la estética del bricolaje. Recientemente, ha sido comisionado para realizar una escultura pública en Lower Grosvenor Gardens, Londres (2020); ha recibido un encargo de arquitectura en Corea del Sur para los Juegos Olímpicos de Invierno de 2018; diseñó un interior para la tienda insignia de Comme des Garçons en Osaka, y transformó el interior de la antigua residencia de Cary Grant en Hollywood para su nuevo propietario, el marchante de arte Jeffrey Deitch. En 2003, su reconstrucción de un patio de clausura fue la pieza central de la exposición de la Fundación Henry Moore en la 50a Bienal Internacional de Arte de Venecia.
